The Arusha Non-Governmental Organization Network (ANGONET) is a regional network of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and NGOs based in Arusha, Tanzania. ANGONET was formally established in 1998 by several NGOs, CSOs, and others with the goal of addressing issues concerning policy advocacy, community development, natural resource/environmental conservation, and other emerging issues in and outside Arusha.
Today, ANGONET has over 100 member organizations working in these key thematic areas: poverty reduction and improved livelihood, environmental/natural resource conservation and sustainable use, human rights, democracy and governance, policy engagement and budget tracking, gender mainstreaming, education, crisis management, public health with emphasis on HIV/AIDS.
The Network was officially registered in 2000 under the Trustees’ Incorporation CAP 375 and duly complied with NGO Act 2002 in September 20th, 2006 with a certificate of compliance No. 1740.
